Those in West Yorkshire, I need your advice please…

I got referred to ADHD 360 in December via RTC. They sent some documents they wanted and my GP took until February to forward them on… I’m assuming I’m only on the list from February following this??? Which I’m worried will set me back even further.

I since learned about Health Harmonie Minds in Birmingham who have a much shorter wait time so sent my GP their documents to forward on… but I’m guessing she’ll take a lifetime with that too.

I’m getting super frustrated because the older I get, the more my symptoms are having an impact on my life. I just want to get my assessment and be able to access medication that might help me 😔

Then I read about NHS ICB pausing new assessments and RTC referrals so I don’t know where that leaves me?? (I don’t fully understand how ICB works or what it is).

Does anyone have any insight into what I’m to expect next? I really can’t afford the private route 😰

Hi, this is a tough situation and can absolutely see why you’d feel frustrated with it all. You’re right about your place on the waitlist starting from when the provider received the forms from the GP.

It’s likely that the previous referral was replaced with the new one and your place on the waitlist would be from the date it was accepted as a transfer or through other means received by the provider.

If the GP hasn’t sent this yet or closed things with the original provider ADHD 360, then you could consider asking them to keep the original referral in place and not go ahead due to your concerns.

Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) are the NHS bodies responsible for planning and commissioning health services in each local area and have influence in the direction of pathways available local to you. Your referral will be based on whether the chosen RTC provider has filled the allocated amount of referrals it’s been allowed from West Yorkshire ICB.

Have you had any notification of the GP sending the referral or the new provider receiving the referral yet?
