I have had a private assessment and have a diagnosis, in January my GP made a referral to ADHD UK so that I can get my medication on the nhs and so i can get additional support.

It has been almost four months and I have not heard back and do not have a way to directly call to get an update. How long does this normally take?

I am so sorry to hear this, this is just awful.

Tomorrow Henrey will be hosting one of his weekly drop-in advice clinics. If you can attend, he would be happy to answer any questions

Hi, thanks for reaching out.

If you were referred to a right to choose provider, you can have a look at current waitlist times for assessment via the link below.

To clarify, ADHD UK is not a diagnostic clinic or treatment provider, and instead, is here to provide information, guidance, and find routes of assessment or support. If you’re happy to share which provider you were referred to for assessment, the community might be able to share more insight on similar experiences or knowledge on current wait times.

Four months is a long time to wait for a response and it can feel difficult to not have any timescale to work towards.

Here to answer what we can if you’d like to share more details or have any further questions and hope you have a response soon.
