Waiting times for NHS funding

Hello. My doctor has referred me to Psychiatry UK for an ADHD test. I’ve been waiting to hear from them for a long time. When I have been in touch they say they are waiting for the NHS funding to come through. Does anyone know roughly how long this takes? Thank you.

Hi, you can find average wait times on the link below specific to your local area and ICB (Integrated care board.

This is based on recent local or national data and best to confirm with your provider, but it gives a good idea of the current situation and wait times.

If there is not currently funding from your local ICB for your chosen provider then you can explore other options including being referred to another provider, but this means referral and agreement from your GP and withdrawal from your current provider.

Thanks for posting and welcome to the forum

Hi all, I have been gp referred, at 69 years old ! That was 6 months ago, and I’ve been told, that in greater Manchester, there is no right to choose funding ?! Us it tue that it may be 3 years before I get my diagnosis and titration?!

Can anyone help ? I’d be grateful :folded_hands:.

Hi, Manchester ICB (integrated care board) has current restrictions in place through indicative activity plans, meaning that right to choose providers have a set limit of the amount of referrals they can take over the year.

You still have the right to choose your provider and the below link shows current data (latest information given by each provider and worth confirming with the provider directly).

Information on current wait times (provider wait times at bottom of the page on the link below).

It’s a tough situation to be in. Hopefully the above helps with how you approach things with your GP, and please feel free to post any other questions as they come up! Welcome to the forum

Many thanks for this,appreciated. Danny.
