Diagnosed under RTC and now on hold for tritation

I’m under NHS Kent and Medway ICB with a Right to Choose (RTC) provider.

My dates are:

  • Referral: 1 July 2026
  • ADHD diagnosis: 27 July 2026
  • Published Kent & Medway cutoff: referrals received after 24 July 2026

My RTC provider has now told me that, although I’ve already completed my assessment, they are pausing my medication/titration pathway because of Kent and Medway ICB funding restrictions, potentially until April 2027.

What I don’t understand is that the restriction they publish appears to be about referrals received after 24 July 2026, whereas my referral was already in on 1 July.

Has anyone else under Kent and Medway ICB had their titration or medication pathway paused even though their RTC referral was before the cutoff date?

I’m trying to work out whether this is a separate restriction on titration, or whether pre-cutoff patients are being caught by the same block anyway.

I’d also been keen on understanding if this applies to all kent RTC providers?

Hi, sorry you’ve been waiting on a response here, and also for the situation you are currently in with being diagnosed in the same few days as indicative activity plan updates being enforced. It is not ok for your treatment to be suddenly stopped in this way. Have you had any contact with the RTC provider since? I’ve shared some of the Kent and Medway updates below which you might have already read, but just in case.

I’d recommend asking for clarification from the RTC provider about what the new rules mean for your treatment specifically, stating what you did in your post here, along with relevant information regarding the cut off, and stating that you had recieved your diagnosis and would like clarity. It is up to you whether this is done via formal complaint etc.

After this you also have the options of getting in touch with your local ICB, sharing the information with your GP as they will be the ones considering shared care for medication if you were taking this route, and they might have local recent updates too. You can also access PALS for guidance and support, and complaints:

Here is a link for the ADHD UK support groups where you might have more local responses, but please do feel free to update here since your last post and any other questions you have or anything to add. Sending a big welcome to the forum, thank you for posting, and I hope you have a clearer answer on things asap!
