I got my adhd disgnosis and titration done privately and am now failing to keep up with payments for medication. I asked my GP if I could do titration on RTC and she said no. She said it is against Yorkshire and the Humber ICB policy. However when I contact RTC providers directly they are saying that there are no restrictions in place and that they are still accepting many Titration only referrals from Yorkshire and Humber per week. What can I do about this? The current NHS waiting list in my area is 5 years.
Hi, welcome and thanks for posting.
Sadly the HNY ICB policy does state, similar to what your GP has said about RTC referrals and medication only options:
Patient’s right to choose - HNY Policy and Pathway Repository
If providers are confirming that titration only referrals are coming in from Yorkshire and the Humber then you escalate this. You could first ask your GP to confirm the refusal in writing and then write to Yorkshire and Humber directly with details of the discrepancy between the policy applied to your case and what the providers you’ve spoken with have shared (written evidence from providers would strengthen your case to be considered).
