My son (7) has been referred by the GP for an ADHD assessment through Right to Choose. We have just heard back from Psicon, that he has not passed the screening stage and they will not be proceeding to assessment. Despite the parent surveys returning a likelihood score of 98%, the school surveys only returned an 8% likelihood he has ADHD which does not meet the threshold for assessment.
Has anyone successfully appealed and managed to get an assessment with Psicon for a child who masks heavily at school? He’s not had any involvement with any other agencies (social worker, therapist or other medical professionals), so there’s no-one other than school who can provide evidence. Psicon say they need evidence from two environments demonstrating signs of ADHD.
