Hi all!
I’m new to the website and I’m seeking some advice
My referral has gone through for my ADHD Assessment which is good but the organisation I have chosen can’t say when I’ll have an appointment for the assessment even with Right To Choose. I knew the waiting times would be long but I’m honestly getting a bit desperate, I’ve felt like this for so long and the idea of continuing to feel like it for goodness knows how long, doesn’t help.
I just wondered do you know of anywhere that offers an ADHD Assessment privately but has NHS funded prescriptions?
Hi, welcome to the forum and thanks for the post.
NHS funded prescriptions following private assessment will depend on your GP agreeing to a shared care arrangement and varies by local area. If you wanted shared care, it’s best to confirm with your GP first that they’d accept.
The ‘Right to Choose’ pathway is itself an NHS funded private assessment (private provider) so you’re already on the same process but with a longer wait time.
You can check whether there are other RTC providers with shorter waits and might be worth considering, guidance on waitlist times by provider is below, but it’s best to confirm with the new provider what their wait time is, and that they’d accept a transfer of care along with requesting the change through your GP.
