Confusion/frustration on wait times through RTC

I’m becoming increasingly frustrated with the communication from InnovateADHD following my diagnosis, mainly due to inconsistent information and sporadic replies.

When I signed up through RTC, the website stated a 3 week wait for assessment and around 2 weeks for titration. At the time, this was one of the best advertised wait times available.

The assessment itself happened very quickly and I was diagnosed on the day. However, during the phone call I was then told they were “looking at around 3 months” before titration could begin, which came as quite a surprise.

After that, communication became very unclear. I later logged into the portal and discovered my diagnosis report had already been uploaded for over a week without any notification that it was there.

I emailed to ask both about this and about expected titration times. I was then told there is a “mandatory 12 week NHS waiting period” before titration, which had never previously been mentioned to me - apparently this is in their Terms and Conditions. If this is genuinely part of the process, I feel it should be reflected in the wait times shown on the RTC website.

I was also told they could not provide any realistic timeframe beyond that because people ahead in the queue may take varying lengths of time during titration, but that the actual wait could potentially be anywhere between 6–9 months.

I replied expressing my shock at this on the 11th of this month (May 2026) and haven’t received any response since. Their phone line also appears to direct callers straight to an answering machine asking people to email instead.

I’m fortunate enough to potentially pay privately for titration, but when I attempted to use the private titration service on their website, I was met with an error saying the service was unavailable. This was the case for all private-related links on their site.

At this point I’m trying to understand what my options actually are.

Can I take my diagnosis elsewhere and pay privately to begin titration sooner? Has anyone else experienced similar issues with RTC providers where assessment wait times looked reasonable but titration delays were much longer? 6–9 months from originally being promised a month, then subsequently 3 seems like an insult and a rug pull if I could have just chosen a different service who were more transparent with their wait times from the get-go.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, thanks for posting and sharing your experience.

It’s really difficult to know which direction to take when timings change and the assessment process doesn’t go as expected. Hopefully others will also share their own experiences, but in the mean time, below is a link to the other Right to Choose providers, many of which you could ask about a private ‘transfer of care’.
This would mean the provider would take your existing diagnosis and offer you options of private treatment.

The same goes for 'the ‘right to choose’ pathway. If the time which you were given for treatment has substantially changed, this would be a valid reason to request a ‘transfer of care’ to another RTC provider. It’s worth just checking that the provider offers this and confirming it with them before choosing them as your nominated provider when speaking with your GP.

I hope you find a better solution soon and feel free to post any further questions or thoughts
